Two lots sold during the second session of the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale on Sunday with a Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) filly topping the sale when bought by Charlie Gordon-Watson for €2.4 million.

Sold by Haras d'Etreham, the filly is the third foal out of Typique (Galileo). Her first foal is the Andre Fabre-trained three-year-old filly Babylone (Invincible Spirit) who won the Prix de Malleret (Gr 2, 2400m) at Longchamp last month and her second is Assyrian Queen (Invincible Spirit), who is also trained by Andre Fabre for breeders Haras Voltaire and finished second on debut at Deauville earlier this month.

The filly's second dam meanwhile is Group One winner Denebola (Storm Cat) and she was catalogued as Lot 108.

Typique was the first mare bought by Zadig & Voltaire founder Thierry Gillier and his bloodstock advisor Laurent Benoit was delighted with the result.

"Typique is the first mare we purchased for breeding. She comes from a magnificent Niarchos family, that of Coup De Génie, Coup De Folie and Natalma, the dam of Northern Dancer, who revolutionised thoroughbred breeding," he said.

"The first two fillies were kept to race and are at André Fabre's. We started to sell some yearlings last year with the help of Arqana and we decided to enter this one in the spring. We would like to thank Haras d'Etreham who have done a great job. We are delighted."

The filly will also join the stable of Andre Fabre and Gordon-Watson believes the filly is the nicest daughter of Dubawi that he has seen.

"She's an outstanding filly - I think that she is the nicest daughter of Dubawi that I have ever seen," he said.

"She's a daughter of Dubawi and her dam has already produced two good horses including Babylone, who is now a Group winner. She'll join Andre Fabre, who also liked her a lot."

Later in the session a second lot made over €1 million when Oliver St Lawrence bought the Ecurie des Monceaux consigned son of Siyouni (Pivotal) for €1.5 million. Offered as Lot 152, the colt is out of Galileo (Sadler's Wells) mare Cercle De La Vie who is already the dam of Group Two winning juvenile Angel Bleu (Dark Angel), who was bought in Deauville last year for €120,000.

The colt's second dam is Hveger (Danehill), famed for producing multiple Group One winner and now Swettenham Stud shuttler Highland Reel (Galileo) as well as his Group One winning brother Cape Of Good Hope (Galileo) and dual Group Two winner Idaho (Galileo). Hveger is herself a daughter of Australian Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Circles Of Gold (Marscay), dam of Elvstroem (Danehill) and Haradasun (Fusaichi Pegasus).

"He's a lovely colt that had a very good update following the victory of his half-brother," said St Lawrence. "If he's as good as him then we have made the right choice! I've bought him for Fawzi Nass. He'll go to England and we'll see where he'll go into training."
