Griffiths De Kock Racing and Mick Price Racing buy on Thursday

Australian spend continued on the third and final day of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 on Thursday, with two further lots bought by Australian-based buyers taking the total number bought to eight lots for a total spend of 1,341,000 guineas. 

McKeever Bloodstock and Griffiths De Kock Racing went to 240,000 guineas to buy a colt by Australia (Galileo) out of Bitooh (Diktat). Sold as Lot 418, the colt is out of a winning half-sister to Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) winner Rekindling (High Chaparral). 

Mick Price Racing and Dermot Farrington added another lot on Thursday, spending 150,000 guineas on a daughter of Lope De Vega (Sharmadal). The filly was sold by Jamie Railton (Agent) as Lot 380. 

The late Coolmore-based multiple champion sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells) finished the sale as the leading sire by average with 11 yearlings selling for 6,135,000 guineas at an average of 557,727 guineas. 

Newsells Park was the leading vendor by both average and aggregate, selling 22 lots for 10,785,000 guineas at an average of 490,227 guineas. 

Godolphin was the leading buyer spending 9,375,000 guineas on 15 lots.
