Bought by Juddmonte Farms during day three of Goffs November Foal Sale.

A filly by Juddmonte Farm's champion sire Frankel (Galileo) reigned at Goffs during the third day of strong trade at the November Foal Sale when she was bought for €550,000 by Juddmonte Farms.

Newtown Stud consigned Lot 652 on behalf of her breeders Gestut Gorlsdorf, the filly is a half-sister to Sea The Moon (Sea The Stars). 

"She has an outstanding pedigree with Group One horses throughout, obviously by Frankel who had an unbelievable year this year and is champion sire. She is a beautiful filly, very well prepared by Newtown and just a lovely filly, one that Prince Khalid's family were very keen to acquire," commented Barry Mahon, Juddmonte's European Racing Manager.
 
"I'm sure you have heard of the Green Book, which is the Juddmonte broodmare band and it is not often a filly of this calibre comes onto the market and they were keen to add her to the Green Book. It's such an outstanding pedigree so hopefully one day she will join the broodmare band and go on to breed good horses for Juddmonte," continued Mahon.
 
For Heike Bischoff of Gestut Gorlsdorf, the decision to send the filly to Newtown Stud and sell her at Goffs had been spectacularly successful and she was filled with competing emotions after the sale.
 
"I am absolutely overwhelmed," she said. "One side of my heart is of course very sad but the other one is happy. She has gone to a lovely owner and I hope they have loads of luck with her. It's a lot of money for a little foal – you can buy a house for that or even more – so you have to be happy. My knees were shaking and I wasn't sure if it was all the tea I was drinking at Sheila Grassick's office or my nerves, but I think it was my nerves. Goffs was a fabulous place to sell her and I am very grateful for the fabulous treatment here." 

A pair of colts who share their sire with Sea The Moon were the most expensive colt foals on a bustling day at Kildare Paddocks.
 
First to achieve that mark was Wardstown Stud's Sea The Stars half-brother to the Group One winner Blond Me (Tamayuz). Lot 562 is a homebred for Elaine and Mark Clarke out of Holda, a Docksider (Diesis) half-sister to Glass Harmonium (Verglas), from the Ballymacoll Stud family of champion Conduit.
 
The couple was delighted with the sale of their colt to Camas Park Stud for €270,000 and Mark Clarke said: "We expected he would go very well, we thought he was an outstanding colt foal. It is hard to get them just like that, such an outstanding physical specimen and we were confident he would go well. It is a great feeling to put the ball in the back of the net."
 
For Elaine it was a triumphant return to the sales ring, as she was making her first trip to the sales since Goffs November Foal Sale in 2019. 
 
"Goffs have been great supporters all week, they are brilliant people to work with and they couldn't do more to accommodate us. I haven't been at a sale for two years so it's nice to be back." 

The fact that the colt was bought by the Hyde family of Camas Park Stud was especially pleasing as Elaine explained "Anybody who came down to see him was not disappointed. Sometimes you can have a very good page but the individual just doesn't quite match up or you can have a stunning individual but he doesn't have the paper and it's not often that you get the two to match up. We knew coming down that anyone who came to see him would like him. The most important thing for us is that he will get the very best opportunity which he will do where he is going and a promising racing career lies ahead for him." 

Jacqueline Norris of Jockey Hall Stud consigned the other son of the Aga Khan Studs' leading sire to make €270,000 on Wednesday. Lot 623 was purchased by Abbeylands Stud and is the second foal out of Newton's Angel (Dark Angel) from a family with which Jacqueline Norris is very familiar– she sold his second dam Newton's Night (Galileo) to Ecurie Monceaux at the 2016 Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale for €440,000.
 
"I'm delighted," remarked the consignor. "This foal belongs to Mrs Tsui and it is the first time we have brought a fairly serious foal for her to the sales. We sold a couple of foals here yesterday but this colt is the best we have sold for her. He is out of a young mare by Dark Angel so it's a lovely outcross and Mrs Tsui has the whole family. Sea The Stars is flying at the moment and he has had a fantastic year."
 
The voracious appetite for high quality stock that has driven increases across the board so far this week at the Goffs November Foal Sale is a positive omen for the Breeding Stock Sale which begins on Friday morning.
 
Norris added: "The foals are selling well here this week, there seems to be a really vibrant trade so I think it should reflect well on the mare sale."
