Magic Millions is about to embark on a three days like other with two yearling sales to be conducted back-to-back on opposites of the country.

On Monday, 145 lots will go under the hammer in Launceston at the Tasmanian Yearling Sale, which remains in its traditional date of the day after the Tasmanian Oaks meeting.

The focus will then shift to Perth with the rescheduled Perth Yearling Sale to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Perth offering was moved due to the stringent WA border restrictions and while eastern-staters will not be able to attend they will be able to follow sale via the online measures that have been taken throughout the Covid period.

The Perth Sale, which comprises 178 lots in Book 1 on Tuesday and 159 lots as Book 2, was originally scheduled to commence on February 14.

"Working with the recently extended WA border restrictions and the resultant staffing and logistical challenges we have tried to position the sale as close as possible to the original schedule to maximise participation in the auction," Magic Millions WA Manager David Houston said.

A total of 483 lots have been catalogued for sale across the two sales with the Tassie sale, most famous for producing Mystic Journey, made up of youngsters by 52 individual sires.

Mystic Journey's sire Needs Further is the heavily-represented in the catalogue, with 28 lots, closely followed by Alpine Eagle (22).

In the Perth book, 84 sires are represented, 13 of which are first-season sires.

Playing God is the most heavily-represented sire, with 27 catalogued lots, while WA buyers also have access to progeny by some of the country's biggest names with Capitalist, Deep Field, Dundeel, Nicconi, So You Think and Written Tycoon all represented.
