Aggregate, average and median all show gains on 2021 figures

Three-year-old Brockovich (Honor Code), in foal to Hill 'N' Dale's Charlatan (Speightstown), was the most expensive lot sold during the fourth session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale on Thursday when bought for $450,000 by Jody Huckabay as agent. 

The unraced mare was sold by Lane's End as agent and is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed colt Spielberg (Union Rags). 

The momentum continued on Thursday, resulting in a healthy day of trade during which Keeneland sold 248 horses for $20,988,500, for an average of $84,631 and a median of $65,000. The aggregate was 5 percent above the $19,981,500 grossed during the fourth session of the 2021 sale when 252 horses sold. The average was seven percent higher than the $79,292 last year, while the median remained the same.

For the sale so far, 795 horses have sold for $163,795,500, 12 percent above the $146,615,500 last year. The average of $206,032 is 18 per cent above last year's figure of $174,959, and the median of $130,000 is up eight percent from the 2021 figure of $120,000.

Taylor Made Sales was the leading consignor with sales of $2,613,000 for 23 horses.

The leading buyer was Hunter Valley Farm, which acquired five horses for $835,000.
