Unbeaten Grade 1 winning son of Candy Ride will stand at Lexington Farm on retirement

Spendthrift Farm has secured the breeding rights to undefeated Grade 1 winner and Kentucky Derby (Gr 1, 10f) hope Rock Your World (Candy Ride).

Trained by John Sadler, the son of Candy Ride (Ride The Rails) broke his maiden in January over six furlongs at Santa Anita. He added the Pasadena Stakes (Listed, 8f) at his next start and then landed the Santa Anita Derby (Gr 1, 9f) on April 3. 

“We are really excited about Rock Your World and thankful to the Hronis family, Michael Talla and John Sadler for allowing us to be a part of the horse’s promising future,” said Ned Toffey, Spendthrift general manager.

“Rock Your World has a wonderful combination of sheer talent, pedigree and sire power, and he’s an imposing physical specimen, which you would expect from a $650,000 yearling. We were especially taken by the brilliance he displayed in the Santa Anita Derby in his first start on the dirt, and think he has a great shot to show that again in the Kentucky Derby and beyond.”

Rock Your World has drawn barrier 15 in the Kentucky Derby and will be partnered by Joel Rosario. 

Bought for US$650,000 by Sapphire Stable at the 2019 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, he is out of Listed winner and Grade 1 placed Charm The Maker (Empire Maker) while further back this is the family of Australian Group 1 winner Perfect Reflection (More Than Ready).
