Animal Kingdom Roars With Six Winners

Six winners in seven days have made it a productive week in Australia for Animal Kingdom whose fourth crop of Southern Hemisphere foals arrive this spring while he remains in at Darley America in Kentucky in 2018.

Four of those winners are Arrowfield graduates and all but one of them are 3YOs including Wild Planet ( Animal Kingdom x Salutations by Redoute’s Choice).

He confirmed the promise from m last season when placed twice Listed company with an impressive 2.5 length win over 1200m at Ballarat on Sunday.

Wild Planet, a grandson of the G2 winner Toast Of The Coast, was a $280,000 Easter yearling buy for trainers Hawkes Racing and agent Andrew Williams and is raced by Rupert & Cheryl Legh and partners.

Other recent winners for Animal Kingdom have included Bob and Sandra Peters’ home-bred filly Mystery Miss (Animal Kingdom x Mystical Miss by More Than Ready) at Belmont in Perth.

At the Gold Coast The Kingdom ( Animal Kingdom x Helena Girl by Commands) prevailed while the midweek meeting at Doomben saw a 3.5 lengths maiden win by Magic Millions graduate Al’s Kingdom (Animal Kingdom ex Alexandrova by Snitzel).

At Cranbourne the New Zealand-owned 4YO mare I Am Queen ( Animal Kingdom x Cat By The Tale by Tale of the Cat), another Magic Millions sale product, sustained a big finish.

I Am Queen is a daughter of US G2 winner Cat By The Tale and a half-sister to two Group-placed performers.

A country maiden win by the Paul Perry-trained Onyar (Animal Kingdom x Girona by Giant’s Causeway) topped the week.

Other winners for Animal Kingdom this month have been Seductive Miss (Animal Kingdom x Armed For Action by Exceed and Excel) who notched up her fourth victory at Moonee Valley, and maiden winner Doctor Doolittle (Animal Kingdom x Miss Diagnosis by Medicean).

Animal Kingdom, a Dubai World Cup champion, is now fourth on the list of Australia’s third season sires after the first eight weeks of 2018/19.

Mares that have already foaled to Animal Kingdom this spring include dual G2 winner Dilly Dally (Rubiton); Double Ranga (Exceed and Excel), dam of G2 winner Scarlet Rain; La Pelegrina (Redoute’s Choice), a full sister to champion Miss Finland; Ouachita (Canny Lad), sister to G1 winner Preserve and half-sister to G1 winner Denman; and G3-placed city winner Smart Manoeuvre (Smart Missile).
