Successful sire Kaphero has died at the age of 15 after suffering an acute onset illness.

The son of Danzero had been standing at Riverdene Stud in Victoria since 2015 after his transfer from Swettenham Stud.

Kaphero has sired 139 winners including the stakes-placed Super Winner, Stingray and Showpero.

His death was reported on the Riverdene website.

“Riverdene Stud is sad to report the premature death of the successful resident stallion Kaphero. He will be sadly missed by his owners, the teams at Swettenham and Riverdene Studs and his many supporters.”
