Coolmore Stud has announced service fees for its 2019 Australian roster of 15 stallions headed by champion sire Fastnet Rock and US Triple Crown winners American Pharoah and newcomer Justify.
“The Coolmore Australia roster for 2019 comprises a mixture of the best Australian-raced stallion prospects to retire to stud along with international stars like Justify, American Pharoah, Saxon Warrior, Mendelssohn, Churchill and Caravaggio,” said Coolmore’s Tom Magnier.
“We believe it is the best lineup of stallions ever assembled in Australia.”Justify (Scat Daddy) heads the list of new stallions on the roster s season for an undisclosed fee while American Pharoah (Pioneerof The Nile) will remain on a fee of $66,000 including GST for his third shuttle season in Australia.
The other new shuttlers joining the roster are the classic winners Saxon Warrior (Deep Impact) n a fee of $24,750 and Mendelssohn (Scat Daddy) at $17,600.Fastnet Rock, So You Think, Merchant Navy and Golden Slipper winners Pierro and Vancouver head the line-up of locally-bred stallions on the roster.
Fastnet Rock tops the roster on a fee of $165,000 after his yearlings averaged $460,000 at last week’s Australian Easter Yearling Sale.Australian 2YO Triple Crown winner Pierro (Lonhro) remains at $88,000 while Fastnet Rock’s multiple G1 winning son Merchant Navy stays at $55,000 for his second season after covering 246 mares in 2018.
So You Think (High Chaparral) and Vancouver (Medaglia D’Oro) have had their fees reduced. So You Think is down from $44,000 to $38,500 and Vancouver from $49,500 to $44,000 ahead of his first crop racing next season.Encosta de Lago’s heir apparent Rubick has a fee increase from $17,600 to $38,500 after producing a string of promising first crop winners this season headed by G2 winner Yes Yes Yes.
“Rubick's fee goes up after an incredibly strong first season from his progeny on the track with eight winners including a Todman Stakes winner,” said Magnier.“He is one of the hottest young sires in the country and as a result his yearlings have sold for up to $900,000 this year.”
