The G2 winner has become one of Australia’s leading stallions, siring 28 individual stakes performers including six G1 winners including the Blue Diamaond and Golden Slipper winners Written By and Capitalist and this year’s Oakleigh Plate winner Booker.

Written Tycoon had 16 lots sell for up to $900,000 at an average of $326,875 at the recent Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Written Tycoon, who has been at stud for 12 seasons, will be joined by his G2-winning son Rich Enuff on the Woodside roster.

Rich Enuff, who finished runner-up in the G1 Caulfield Guineas, will stand for an unchanged fee of $12,100 (inc GST).

He covered 115 mares in 2018 with his first crop to race next season.

The other stallions on the roster are Cable Bay ($13,200), Foxwedge ($16,500) and Tosen Stardom ($19,250).

Needs Further, the sire of champion Tasmanian fily Mystic Journey, will remain at Armidale Stud with his fee increasing from $5500 to $13,750 inc GST.

Overtures to move Needs Further from Tasmania to a major stud in Victoria or NSW has been rejected.

The offers came after Mystic Journey's amazing 2018/19 season which saw the Tasmanian owned and trained filly win the G1 Australian Guineas and the inaugural $5 million All-Star Mile at Flemington.

Armidale Stud’s managing director David Whishaw said there had been a lot of interest from mainland studs in Needs Further.

“There has been an incredible amount of interest but all said and done we believe Needs Further can continue to be a success at stud whilst standing in Tasmania,” Whishaw said.

“He has only three crops of racing age and all told around 70 runners. He is third on the Third Season Sires list behind Pierro and All Too Hard and they have had nearly three times the number of starters.”

Needs Further is also the sire of dual stakes winner Mystical Pursuit, and Deroche, winner of the 2019 Tasmanian Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Alpine Eagle will stand with Needs Further at an unchanged fee of $7700 inc GST.
