Bright Spring Outlook For Reset

3 minute read

Last Saturday's Flemington double by Star Of Giselle and Module underlines what could lie ahead for their sire Reset this spring.

Having her fourth career start, the Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Star Of Giselle scored impressively over 1100m and will now target black type races.

A winner of two of her four starts, the filly is out of the dual Listed-winning Danehill mare Princesa, a three-quarter-sister to the G3winner and G1-placed Kaphero.

The Peter Gelagotis-trained Module recorded his third consecutive win, taking his overall record to six wins from 11 starts.

He may now be given the chance to qualify for Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.

Reset[/s] has sired nine individual stakes winners this season in Australia and has more stakes winners than any other Victorian-based sire.

They include Pinker Pinker, winner of the G2 Angus Armanasco and third in the G1 AJC Oaks and is another classy prospect for the spring.

Among stallions with over 100 runners this season, Reset sits second behind Lonhro with a stakes winner to runners ratio of 5.5%.

Lonhro has had over 60 more runners than Reset.

An unbeaten dual G1 winner, Reset is the sire of a Derby winner in his first crop, a Guineas filly in his second crop and an Oaks filly in his third crop.
