An outstanding sprinter held in the highest regard by trainer Gai Waterhouse, Swift Alliance has been standing in northern NSW and was placed on the market after serving a limited number of mares.

Victoria’s Springview Stud at Euroa has jumped at the opportunity to stand the member of the Sir Tristram line by Don Eduardo.

"I really think that front running speed horses make good stallions," said Springview’s Peter Smith.

"Not many horses win five stakes races and he did it over three seasons, proving his class, toughness and durability."

Swift Alliance retired with nine wins from 19 starts including wins in six of his first seven starts that took him from maiden class to victories in the Listed Show County Quality at Randwick and G3 Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington.

He went on to win the G3 Star Kingdom Stakes twice, Listed Razor Sharp Quality and finish second in the G1 Galaxy at Randwick..

Swift Alliance is one of 10 stakes winners sired by Don Eduardo, the Zabeel colt who made a record-breaking $3.6 million when sold as a yearling at the 2000 Karaka Premier Sale to Gooree Stud.

Don Eduardo, a member of the great Eight Carat family and brother of the multiple G1 winner Tristalove, more than justified his sale price by winning five races including the G1 AJC Australian Derby and G3 Autumn Classic along with G1 placings in the Rosehill Guineas, Australian Cup and Underwood Stakes.

Don Eduardo’s stakes winners include the dual G1 winner Booming and Group winners Divine Rebel, Mungo Jerry, Vickezzchardonnay, Don Domingo and All In Black.

Swift Alliance is one of three black type performers produced by the imported Silver Deputy mare Visual Emotion, also dam of the G1 placed and dual G3 winner Sultry Feeling. She is also the grandam of the G2 Shannon Stakes winner Rock Sturdy.

This family has also produced big race winners Selmis, Serape, Hawkbill, Tiz Miz Sue, Admiral Kitten and the Breeders Cup Mile winning champion stallion Cozzene.
