Champion sire Dubawi had G1 winners in Australia and the UK over the weekend.
Godolphin star Benbatl (Dubawi x Nahrain) won the G1 Caulfield Stakes at his Australian debut for his fourth G1 win of his career. He has won seven of his 15 starts for prize-money of $6,088,650.
Benbatl is out of the champion filly Nahrain (Selkirk) who won twice at G1 level in France and the US. She is also a half-sister to Listed winner Baharah (Elusive Quality).Dubawi added his 38th G1 winner when the brilliant colt Too Darn Hot (Dubawi x Dar Re Mi by Singspiel) maintained his unbeaten record in the G1 Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket to establish his rating as the best juvenile colt in Europe to establish his place at the head of markets for next year’s 2000 Guineas and Derby.
It was the second time in four days the progeny of Dubawi and Dar Re Mi had created headlines after Too Darn Hot’s yearling brother sold for 3.5 million guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Too Darn Hot, raced by his breeder Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, has won all four of his career starts for £358,966 prize-money.He is a brother to the G3 winner So Mi Dar and Listed winner Lah Ti Dar, who finished second in the G1 St Leger last month.
The family also includes dual G1 winners Rewilding (Tiger Hill) and Darazari (Sadler’s Wells).Dar Re Mi’s 2018 filly is also by Dubawi (Dubai Millennium). He shuttled to Australia for three years from 2006 to 2009.
