Karaka Select Sale graduate Beauty Generation treated the Sha Tin crowd to another sparkling performance in Sunday’s $HK4.25 million Jockey Club Mile.
The NZ-bred reigning Hong Kong Horse of the Year by Road To Rock registered his eighth win from his last 11 starts and his fourth in succession.
Beauty Generation took command in the home straight, charging to victory by three lengths in a track-record time of 1:32.64.The record was previously held by Good Ba Ba and had stood for nearly a decade.
Bought for just $NZ60,000 at Karaka, he has now earned more than $HK46.44 million ($NZ8.65 million).Beauty Generation (Road To Rock x Stylish Bel by Bel Esprit) was bred by Greg Tomlinson’s Nearco Stud in NZ and has now won ten times from 18 starts in Hong Kong including three at Group One level.
He is a graduate of Highden Park’s 2014 Select Yearling draft at the New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale where he was purchased by Kylie Bax’ Hermes Syndications. He now races for Hong Kong owner Patrick Kwok.Beauty Generation’s trainer John Moore hopes his stable star will receive the international accolades he deserves.

Riversley Park topped the vendors’ list by aggregate last year, selling 22 horses for a total of NZ$3.425 million.The Ohaupo farm will be represented this week at the same sale by another bumper draft of 29 two-year-olds, including a half-brother to Styling City by Exceed And Excel.
The colt will go under the hammer as Lot 238 on the second day of the sale that commences at Karaka on Wednesday.
