Champs Elysees Dies After Heart Attack

Group 1 winning sire and producer Champs Elysees has died after suffering a heart attack.

The Danehill stallion is best known in Australia as the sire of G1 Australian Cup winner Harlem and G1 Ascot Gold Cup winner and Caulfield Cup second Trip To Paris.

Champs Elysees, from the Aga Khan’s champion Kahyasi broodmare Hasili, was a brother to the G1 winners Dansili, Banks Hill, Intercontinental and Cacique and half-brother to Heat Haze.

Raise The Flag, another brother to Champs Elysees by Sadler’s Wells, stands at White Robe Lodge in New Zealand.

In the UK Champs Elysees, aged 15, sired three G1 winners and 22 stakes winners including this season's G1 1000 Guineas winner Billesdon Brook.

He was standing at Castlehyde Stud in Ireland.
