Champion mare Songbird, a two-time Eclipse Award-winner, has delivered her first foal by Arrogate.

The filly was born at Wayne and Cathy Sweezey’s Timber Town Farm near Lexington in Kentucky.

Songbird, a 6YO daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, was bought for $US9.5 million by Mandy Pope on behalf of her Whisper Hill Farm at the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Selected Mixed Sale.

He sale price was the second-highest price ever at a North American auction for a broodmare prospect.

Pope boards a number of her mares at the Sweezey’s operation.

The new-born filly is a member of the first crop by champion Arrogate, who is standing at Juddmonte Farm for an advertised fee of $US75,000.
