Champion Japanese stallion Deep Impact will not complete the 2019 breeding season due to recurring neck issues.

The son of Sunday Silence will cease covering mares at Shadai Stallion Station but is expected to renew his stud career in 2020.

Deep Impact, a former dual Japan Horse of the Year, is the sire of 39 individual G1 winners.

He has been the leading sire in Japan for the past seven years and has also been represented in Australia by his imported G1 winners Tosen Stardom and Real Impact and G3 winner Fierce Impact.
