Siyouni Filly Sets Goffs Record

A filly by Siyouni has sold for a Goffs UK Breeze-Up Sale record of £450,000.

She was purchased by Anthony Stroud and rovided the Longways Stables team of Mick Murphy and his fiancé Sarah O'Connell with a big pinhook profit after , bought the filly for £95,000 at last year's Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.

Stroud confirmed that Simon Crisford will train the filly for Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

"I liked the filly, and Siyouni is a wonderful stallion, but now she needs to go out and run,” Stroud said.

"It's a lot of money, but let's hope it's worth it."

The filly is the second foal out of Fig Roll, a daughter of Bahamian Bounty.

The sale finished with a record average after 109 of the 130 2YOs offered were sold for a clearance rate of 84%.

The aggregate of £5,068,250 was down 8% from 2018 with 29 fewer horses changing hands but the average of £46,498 was up 16% and the median rose to £27,000.

The Siyouni filly is the joint second-highest-priced horse ever sold at Doncaster and the highest-priced flat horse sold by Goffs in the company's 57-year history.
