Galileo's outstanding son Gleneagles has sired his first stakes winner with the success of his first-crop son Southern Hills in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Southern Hills is among four first crop winners by Gleneagles and added to an excellent start to the Royal Ascot week by Coolmore Stud sires.
Gleneagles produced 109 foals in his debut crop from a book that contained 70 stakes-performing mares including 26 Group winners.
Gleneagles was the champion 3YO of his year winning G1 Irish 2000 Guineas and G1 St. James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot to go with his win in the G1 National Stakes as a 2YO.
He was also first past the post in the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere-Grand Criterium in Paris but was demoted to third after an objection.
Southern Hills is the second foal from the Invincible Spirit mare Remember You, a G3 placegetter for Coolmore.
Her first foal I Remember You (Australia) is also a winner and she has a yearling colt by Galileo.
Galileo as expected is taking a prominent place in Royal Ascot results.
He is the sire of the G1 St. James's Palace Stakes winner Circus Maximus and grandsire of other day one winners The Grand Visir, by Frankel, and Dashing Willoughby, a son of Nathaniel.
Boom sire No Nay Never was another Coolmore stalion in the frame with a winner at Royal Ascot.
His exciting colt Arizona (No Nay Never x Lady Ederle, by English Channel) became his tenth stakes winner when he landed the G2 Coventry Stakes on the first day after a maiden win at the Curragh by eight lengths.
A €260,000 yearling purchase by MV Magnier, Arizona was bred by Stephen Sullivan out of a half-sister to G3 winner Fathayer and to the dam of Dabirsim.
Arizona is the ninth Coventry Stakes winner trained by Aidan O'Brien and gave him his 66th win at Royal Ascot.
The O'Brien-trained 3YO colt Circus Maximus (Galileo x- Duntle by Danehill Dancer) became his sire's 78th G1 winner when he won the St. James's Palace Stakes on the opening day.
Beaten just a length in the G1 Futurity Trophy last season, Circus Maximus made a successful return in the Listed Dee Stakes at Chester and finished sixth in the Epsom Derby next time out.
Circus Maximus, bred by Flaxman Stables, is the first foal out of multiple Stakes winner Duntle, herself a G2 winner at Royal Ascot and second in two G1 contests.
Godolphin homebred Raffle Prize's (Slade Power x Summer Fete by Pivotal) provided his sire Slade Power with his first stakes winner in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes on Day 2.

Raffle Prize's second dam is the winning Daylami mare Tamarillo, a half-sister to the stakes performers Take It To The Max (Bahamian Bounty) and Wake Up Call (Noverre).
