Postponed Laid To Rest

3 minute read

Westbury Stud’s veteran sire Postponed has been laid to rest at the Karaka stud farm after succumbing to a health issue.

Westbury Stud advised that the 21-year-old stallion had contracted an issue which compromised his health.

Postponed, a US-bred son of Sumer Squall, began his stud career in New Zealand at Fayette Park Stud. When that stud closed he moved to Stoneybridge Farm before he was relocated to Westbury Stud in 2009.

He is the sire of G1 winners Consensus, Dorabella, Pasta Post and Wait A Sec, G2 winners Postmans Daughter and Naturo and the G3 winners Mr O’Ceirin and Duckworth Lewis.

A G2 winner himself in the US, Postponed to date has sired 251 winners and 14 individual stakes winners of more than $18 million.
