Fabulous Classic Prospect For Polanski

3 minute read

Classic winner Polanski was provided with his first stakes winner when his  2YO son Fabulanski won the Listed Taj Rossi Series Final at Flemington on Saturday.

Fabulanksi (Polanski x Fabianska by Danehill) is prepared by Polanski's trainer Robbie Laing and is set to follow the path of his sire to the Victoria Derby in the spring after recording his first win at start six.

Laing won four races with POLANSKI from ten starts including a three-lengths success in the 2013 Victoria Derby.

The son of Rakti is standing at Ducks Crossing Farm in Victoria where he covered just eight mares at a fee of $5500 last spring.

FABULANSKI is his first stakes winner and seventh individual winner with Laing eager to take the same route as Polanski by starting him in the Listed UCI Stakes and G3 Caulfield Classic before the $2 million VRC Derby at Flemington on November 2.

"He's a big, powerful brute and he'll run the 2500 metres on his ear. They better watch out Derby Day."

Fabulanski was passed in for $34,000 at last year's Melbourne VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale on a $40,000 reserve.

He is one four winners from the Danehill mare Fabianska including the stakes performer Street Allure (Street Boss).

His second dam is the US-bred Listed winner Puzzled Look (Gulch), a daughtger of the Blushing Grroom stakes winner Wedding Picture.

Fabulanski's rider Linda Meech, the Victorian riding premiership leader, completed a Listed double when guiding Reykjavik (Artie Schiller x Gibraltar Storm by Rock Of Gibra;tar to victory in the Lised Winter Championship Series Final.

Reykjavik recorded his second Listed win, having landed the Listed Hannans at Kalgoorlie when racing in WA last year.

REYKJAVIK is one of 47 stakes winners by Artie Schiller from Gibraltar Storm, a half-sister to the stakes-performer Storm Burst (Danehill Dancer) from the family of New Zealand Derby Rangipo (Stryker).

Rock of Gibraltar is also the dam sire of Your Song's exciting 3YO Sir Elton, who maintained his unbeaten record with his third win from as many starts at Randwick on Saturday.

A $175,000 Melbourne Premier Sale purchase by trainer Adam Duggan, Sir Elton is out of the Rock Of Gibraltar mare Calpe, a daughter of the multiple stakes winner and G1 placed Marauding mare Unison.

Unison is from Zedagal (The Judge), a sister to multiple G1 winner and sire Zeditave.

The family also features dual G1 winner Melito (Redoute's Choice) and Greys Inn (Zabeel), winner of the G1 Durban July, G1 South African Derby and G1 South African Classic.

Major success is predicted for the Hallowed Crown two-year-old Rule The World after dominating his opposition in his first two racetrack appearances.

RULE THE WORLD made it two-from-two with his victory at Randwick on Saturday, adding to the promising start to his young sire Hallowed Crown's stud career.

Rule The World is one of five winners in Australia, Singapore and the UK from the first crops of Hallowed Crown, a son of Street Sense who won six of his nine starts and was twice a winner at G1 level.

Hallowed Crown's winners include the UK winner Allhallowtide and Big Hearted who has won each of his two starts in Singapore.

Rule The World is from Pay Off Now (Danehill Dancer), also the dam of the multiple winner Gentle Persuasion (More Than Ready) and half-sister to the dual G3 winner Gamble Me (Rock Of Gibraltar).
