It is believed owner Richard Pegum's decision came down to a choice between the Coolmore based Encosta De Lago and Vinery's More Than Ready.

A $250,000 purchase from the 2007 Magic Millions, the daughter of Redoute's Choice was widely accepted as the best two-year-old of 2007-08, with her two starts producing wins by big margins.

Her debut was a 9.5length stroll at Canterbury and she then franked the form with a 6.5length obliteration of the G2 Silver Slipper field (which included subsequent Group winners Hips Don't Lie and Rock Me Baby, along with G1 placed Glowlamp).

Sadly, that proved to be the final start for Amelia's Dream, as she broke down in the run and was forced out of the Golden Slipper.

Another attempt was made to return her to the racetrack this year, but injury prevented her re-appearance.

Amelia's Dream is from the top class St Covet mare Shalt Not.

A mating with Encosta De Lago is the reverse cross that produced this year's Champion South African 2YO Colt Musir, who is by Redoute's Choice from the stakes placed Encosta mare Dizzy De Lago.

To date as a broodmare sire, Redoute's Choice has had just the 12 starters, for four winners. None of the 12 to race are by Encosta De Lago.

Redoute's Choice was back in the news yesterday, with his $1.1Million colt Sigma winning for trainer Peter Snowden and the Darley team.

Snowden predicts a bright future for Sigma and said he expects him to return a vastly superior horse in the autumn.

Sigma is from Highgrove Stud's Dehere mare Angelic Smile, who also produced the G2 winning $550,000 Falbrav colt Fravashi – who is now a member of the Godolphin team on the International stage.
