The 4YO mare Rose of Peace (Hussonet ex Rose O' War by Danehill) was a shock winner of the Listed Wenona Girl Quality at Randwick, only her second win in 10 starts but she had previously finished fourth in Brazilian Pulse's G2 Wakeful Stakes and third to Parables in the G2 Surround Stakes as a three-year-old.

Rose Of Peace was bred by Arrowfield Stud in partnership with John Leaver and sold at the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Sale for $170,000 to Martin Byrne Bloodstock.

She is raced by the Doyles Breeding & Racing Syndicate and is the first stakeswinner for her Group-winning dam Rose O'War, who also has a 3YO Hussonet filly named Roses In Spring, a 2YO More Than Ready filly named I'm Wicked and a yearling colt by Starcraft.

At Ascot in Perth the consistent sprinter Werd broke through for his first black type victory in the Listed WATC Stakes, setting a new race record of 1.04.77 for the 1100m.

The son of Hussonet is out of Messenger Miss, a three-quarter sister to Green Desert, and now has a record of 10 wins and 14 placings, five at Listed level or better, from 39 starts and prizemoney of just over $500,000.

Bred by the partnership of Arrowfield and Gainsborough Stud, Werd was purchased for $360,000 by Tim Stakemire from the Arrowfield draft at the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

Werd and Rose Of Peace take Hussonet's season tally of Australian stakeswinners to four, and his lifetime tally to 80, including 28 G1 winners - more than any other active Australian sire.

Hussonet is represented by seven lots at the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Sale, among them five colts offered by Arrowfield.

They include the first yearling offered for sale from champion filly Miss Finland, a full brother to G1 Blue Diamond winner Reaan and a colt from dual G1 winner Hollow Bullet.

Hussonet now stands at Cornerstone Stud in South Australia.
