The win was the fifth for Upon This Rock, but importantly was the first at black type level for the valuable breeding prospect.

An easy winner at Warwick Farm on April 4, Upon This Rock beat Lonhro's sister Shannara and deny that mare a double after her win in the Dark Jewel in 2011.

Upon This Rock was bought by James Bester Bloodstock for $225,000 from the Willow Park draft at the 2009 Magic Millions Yearling Sale and is raced by Laurie Macri, who shares in the ownership of star Fastnet Rock filly Atlantic Jewel.

She has the overall record of five wins and 10 placings from 24 starts with prizemoney of $337,940.

Upon This Rock is one of four black type gallopers, from four runners, for the winning mare Joleur.

A well related daughter of Bite the Bullet, Joleur has made a great name for herself as a producer through the exploits of her progeny, stakes winners Gaze On, Bhutane Dane, Upon This Rock and stakes placegetter Rogue Warrior.

Upon This Rock is a three quarter sister to the Melbourne trained stakes winner Amah Rock, runner-up in Saturday's G3 BTC Classic at Doomben.

Joleur is a full sister to Mica's Pride, the G3 winning dam of G2 winner Varenna Miss and stakeswinner Silently.

The current yearling from Joleur, a colt by Choisir, made $160,000 at the 2012 Magic Millions sale at the Gold Coast.

Upon This Rock is the 31st stakes-winner for Fastnet Rock, who is leading the Australian General Sires List by earnings and stakes-winners.
