71st SW & 18th Group 1 for Fastnet

In winning yesterday’s Thousand Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m) at Caulfield, Amicus (3 f ex Gold Chant by El Moxie) became the 18th Group One winner for Coolmore’s Fastnet Rock (Danehill). Previously Group Two placed, the winner also becomes her sires 71st stakes winner whilst the win was part of a stakes double for Fastnet Rock who is also the sire of yesterday’s Angst Stakes (Gr 3, 1600m) winner Neena Rock.

25th Group 1 for Redoutes

Hampton Court (3 c ex Roses ‘N’ Wine by Broken Vow) is the 25th Group One winner for Arrowfield’s Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) after he won the Spring Champion Stakes (Gr 1, 2000m) at Randwick yesterday. Redoute’s Choice’s 2014 fee is advertised at $110,000 (inc GST).

Four for Northern Meteor

The late Northern Meteor (Encosta De Lago) recorded his fourth individual Group One winner yesterday when Shooting To Win (3 c ex Listen Here by Elusive Quality) landed the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1, 1600m). Northern Meteor died last year.

Stakes double for good

The Hill Smith Stakes (Listed, 1800m) at Morphettville was won by Lotion (3 g ex Poison Ivy by Danehill Dancer) who became the tenth stakes winner for Good Journey (Nureyev). Griante (4 m ex Grand Strategy by Strategic) became his 11th stakes winner when winning the Sportingbet Series Final (registered as Northwood Plume Stakes) (Gr 3, 1200m) at Caulfield later in the day. Good Journey stands at Cornerstone Stud where his 2014 fee is $8,800 (inc GST).

Two for host

The Weekend Hussler Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Caulfield was won by Hosting (5 g ex Kali Smytzer by Zabeel) who is the second stakes winner for Host (Hussonet). The Swettenham Stud-based Host has his 2014 fee advertised at $8,800 (inc GST).

43 for Pentire

Atacama (5 m ex Almaviva by Catbird) became the 43rd stakes winner for Pentire (Be My Guest) when she won the Matamata Cup (Listed, 1600m) at Matamata yesterday. Pentire stands at Rich Hill Stud where his 2014 fee was set at NZ$17,500 (plus GST).

Seven for Ishiguru

Previously Group placed, The Filly (6 m ex Bayline Beauty by Soviet Star) became the seventh stakes winner for Ishiguru (Danzig) when she won the Taranaki Breeders Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m) at Hawera yesterday. Having previously shuttled to Chequers Stud, Ishiguru died three year’s ago after complications from a knee injury.

commemorative wins autumn stakes

The Juddmonte homebred Commemorative (2 c ex Revered by Oasis Dream) took out the Autumn Stakes (Gr 3, 1m) at Newmarket on Saturday to give his sire Zamindar (Gone West) his 27th stakes winner.

Commemorative scored by one length over the outsider Restorer (Mastercraftsman) with one and a half lengths back to Godolphin’s Future Empire (New Approach) in third.

52 for Arch

Godolphin's Albasharah (5 m ex Desert Gold by Seeking The Gold) decisively took out the Pride Stakes (Listed, 1m2f) at Newmarket on Saturday to give her sire Arch (Kris S) his 52nd stakes winner. Albasharah scored by

three and a half lengths over Talmada (Cape Cross) with a further four and a half lengths back to Wahgah (Distorted Humor) in third.
