The 1800m race has attracted a 10 strong Kiwi-bred field competing for a share of RMB500,000 (NZ$105,000) prizemoney.

The race will be televised live on NZ Trackside at 6:40pm (NZ time) on Sunday.

NZB managing director Andrew Seabrook is proud to be sponsoring this event and of NZB’s partnership with the Rider Horse Group.

“NZB is delighted to partner with Mr Lang Lin and the Rider Horse Group to put on such a valuable race in Inner Mongolia,” commented Seabrook.

“The racing industry in China is still in its infancy but thanks to people like Mr Lang it is growing at a rapid rate and we are privileged to be a part of it.

“New Zealand has played a pivotal role in getting thoroughbred racing in Korchin up and running and it has been great to see the success Mr Lang and Rider Horse Group have achieved in both China and New Zealand through the likes of Mongolian Khan.

“This new race will naturally grow the racing industry in China and will be a great asset to NZB’s Ready to Run Sale as Chinese buyers look to bolster their stables with kiwi bred runners targeting future New Zealand Bloodstock Cup meets.”

The Rider Horse Group, headed by Lang Lin, purchased 46 two-year-olds from NZB’s Ready to Run Sale in 2014 (20) and 2015 (26).

Among the horses purchased and raced by Rider Horse Group is multiple G1 Derby winner Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor), now standing at Windsor Park Stud.

NZB’s Ready to Run Sale is the leading sale of its kind in Australasia, producing three-time G1 winners Turn Me Loose and Mongolian Khan, along with other G1 winners Dukedom, Gaultier , Albany Reunion, Nashville, Glorious Days and Atlante in the last four seasons alone.

The NZB Ready to Run Sale is on November 16 and 17 at Karaka. Breeze Ups will be held at Te Rapa racecourse on October 17 and 18.
