Exciting Magic Millions three-year-old Whypeeo bounced back from a first-up defeat in Sydney to win the Listed Gold Edition Plate at Doomben on Saturday and provide his sire I Am Invincible with his 25th stakes winner.
Trained by Toby Edmonds, Whypeeo was purchased by Blue Sky Bloodstock for $200,000 at last year's Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Edmonds said Whypeeo would have his next start in the G3 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on December 30. A decision will then be made whether he targets the $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas at the Gold Coast on 13 January or the shorter $1 million Magic Millions Sprint (1200m) on the same program.Jeff Lloyd and @EdmondsRacing back in the winners circle with talented gelding Whypeeo who controls the race out in front and holds off the fast finishing Pierata in the Listed Gold Edition Plate. @racing_qld pic.twitter.com/RDeowu17LX
