Magic Millions contender Boomsara became the eighth stakes winner for his leading young sire Spirit Of Boom with his strong front running win in the G3 Vo Rogue Plate at Doomben on Saturday.
The Chris Munce-trained 3YO gelding won by four and a half lengths in a big trial for the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas at the Gold Coast on Saturday week.
Boomsara, a $45,000 buy from the 2017 Gold Coast March Yearling Sale by Munce Racing, has won three races and placed three times from nine starts for prize-money of $361,400The Eureka Stud-bred Boomsara (Spirit Of Boom x Passara by Tsuimai) is a half-brother three winners including the stakes-placed Sarisara (Red Dazzler).
His dam Passara (Tsuimai) is a half-sister to the stakes-placed McFly (Perugino) and McLoud (Jeune).Eureka Stud retained a share in Boomsara and will offer his full brother at the upcoming Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Spirit Of Boom was the leading first season sire by winners in 2017-18. His stakes winners include G3 winner Spirits Auber and Listed winners Outback Barbie, Ef Troop, Jonker and Champagne Boom.Godolphin will have two wildcard starters on Magic Millions day after stakes wins by the classy pair Tally and Manicure at Doomben on Saturday.
Tally is now eligible for the Magic Millions Trophy (2200m) while Manicure lines up in the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares (1300m).Manicure (Exceed And Excel x Trim by Lonhro) provided her sire with his 152nd stakes winner with her first-up victory in the Listed Nudgee Stakes, a win that has assured her of a start in the $1 million Magic Millions Fillies and Mares on January 12.
