Classy mare Whispering Brook gave yearling buyers more cause to look closely at remaining progeny by the late Hinchinbrook after she won the G3 Standish Handicap at Flemington on New Year’s Day.
The ninth career win by the Darren Weir-trained Whispering Brook took her career earnings past $1 million, a big return on the $45,000 she cost as a weanling at the Magic Millions National Sale in 2014.
