Round-up of breeding results on May 18.

Champion Coolmore sire Fastnet Rock posted a trans-Tasman stakes double on Saturday.

The imported Irish bred gelding Fastnet Tempest (Fastnet Rock x Dame Blanche by Be My Guest) won the G3 Robert A Lee Stakes at Morphettville while his NZ-based mare Hinerangi (Fastnet Rock x Hinemoaby Elusive City) claimed her first black type win in the Listed Rangitikei Gold Cup at Awapuni.

From the Hayes-Dabernig stable at Lindsay Park, Fastnet Tempest was previously trained in the UK by William Haggas. His record now stands at eight wins and 10 placings from 32 starts with prizemoney in excess of $660,000.

He is the best of seven winners from Dame Blanche and is a half-brother to the dam of G3 winner Sweety Dream.

Hinerangi became the 146th stakes winner for Fastnet Rock and added another black type victory to the big season being enjoyed by her trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman.

She is s the 24th New Zealand Group or Listed win for Baker and Forsman this season, with the pair leading the NZ premiership with 103 wins to date.

Raced by her breeders Christopher and Susanna Grace, Hinerangi has won five races from just 20 starts.

Her stakes winning dam Hinemoa won four races and hails from a family that includes G2 Wellington Cup winner Graphic (Volksraad) and G1 winner Morar (Otehi Bay).

Fastnet Rock is also the dam sire of Saturday’s promising Rosehill 2YO winner Kubrick, a first crop son of Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting To Win.

Kubrick is unbeaten in two starts and is one of Shooting To Win’s five first-crop winners.

A $250,000 purchase at last year’s Melbourne Premier Sale by prominent syndicator Star Thoroughbreds, Kubrick is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Alcatraz and is related to Twiglet, dam of the international G1 champion Fairy King Prawn and G1-winning Australian sire Easy Rocking.

Moor Gait, upset winner at odds of $101 in the G3 SA Fillies’ Classic at Morphettville, is the fourth stakes winner for her Melbourne Cup winning sire Fiorente.

Moor Gait (Fiorente x L’Inquisitor by Blackfriars) is trained by Andrew Noblet and he wasn’t surprised by her win.

"She is pretty good. She shouldn’t have been those odds,” Noblet said.

Fiorente will stand for a fee of $27,500 (inc GST) at Sun Stud in Victoria in 2019.

Another Morphettville winner, the imported mare Clearly, is set to be retired to stud after her maiden stakes success in the Listed Centaurea Stakes.

The Archie Alexander-trained Clearly (Invincible Spirit x Concordia by Pivotal) provided her sire with his 121st individual stakes winner.

Saturday’s valuable Doomben stakes winner Quilista (Scandal Keeper x Brocky's Ace by Surtee) is entered for the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale later this month.

Quilista, a multiple G2 winner, is catalogued as Lot 929 but co-trainers Peter and Paul Snowden are hoping yesterday’s win might entice owner Justin Warwick to prolong her racing career.

"It's always been the plan to sell her and that's probably the route she'll take but we’ll talk to him and see where her future lies as she’s til racing at a good level,” said Paul Snowden.

Last season’s champion first season sire Spirit Of Boom has nine stakes winners in his first two crops after the

2YO filly Perudo (Spirit Of Boom x Goodlookin Gambler by Johannesburg) won the Listed Bill Carter Stakes at Doomben.

Perudo is trained by Tony Gollan, who also prepared Spirit Of Boom.

Spirit Of Boom’s other stakes winners include Boomsara, Spirits Aubeer, Outback Barbie, Jonker and Ef Troop.

Tony Gollan’s brilliant Zoustar 3YO Zoustyle extended his unbeaten record to six wins in the $105,000 JRA Plate at Doomben on Saturday.

Bred and raced by Desharon Bloodstock and Stableboard Bloodstock, Zoustyle took his earnings to over $300,000.

He is the second foal of the Anabaa mare Fashion, a stakes-placed winner in Germany.

Fashion is an imported half-sister to the G3 winner Felicit, dam of the champion German miler Felician.

Gollan paid $300,000 for a filly by Choisir from Fashion at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale last month. Fashion also has a weanling colt by Sebring.

Godolphin runner Isaurian’s first-up victory in Saturday’s Listed Chief De Beers Handicap at Doomben made him the 158th stakes winner for his sire Exceed And Excel.

Isaurian is a son of the Elusive Quality mare Byzantine and a brother to the G3 winner Ottoman.

Byzantine is a half-sister four-time G1 winner Mummify. He won the Caulfield Cup, Singapore International Cup, Caulfield Stakes and South Australian Derby.
