Lipari was sold to Gerry Harvey's Baramul Stud for $1.6 million. She is the second highest lot of the sale behind Missrock, sold on the first day for $2.3 million.

Catalogued as Lot 1325, Lipari was presented by Twin Hills Stud in foal to leading sire I Am Invincible.

The mare is the dam of G1 ATC Australian Derby winner Levendi and G3 winning juvenile Marcel From Madrid.

"She's thrown two very good horses," a delighted Gerry Harvey said. "I thought she was an outstanding buy and great value.

“I will send her back to I Am Invincible again this coming season."

Olly Tait from Twin Hills Stud purchased LIpari for $170,000 before either Levendi or Marcel From Madrid had raced.

"It's a fabulous result," Tait said. "We bought her here at Magic Millions a couple of years ago and it's been massively exciting since then owning her.

“Levendi won his first race three days after we bought her."

"She's been the best horse we've owned. It's sad to see her go, but we're in the business of selling horses."

Harvey also bid for the day's second highest lot, the stakes winner and emerging producer Members Joy.

He lost out to Aquis Farm who went to $1.45 million to secure her from the Newgate Consignment.

Her first foal is the multiple G2 winner Pure Elation and she will produce a full relation in October.

Group One winner Miss Wilson in foal to Zoustar was purchased by Kia Ora Stud from Lime Country Thoroughbreds for $900,000.

Mitchell Bloodstock also paid $900,000 for Houtzen's dam Set To Unleash.

With one day and 190 lots still to run the National Broodmare Sale has grossed almost $83 million for 567 lots sold at an average price of $146,368.

The clearance rate sits at 78 per cent.
