The G1 winning daughter of Shinko King had been in limbo after being caught up in the controversy of her ownership bona fides that led to her former trainer Ciaron Maher being sidelined by stewards for six months.

The 8YO has been purchased by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock and will result in the lifting of an embargo that prevented her from racing since 2016.

She was offered at the Echuca sale under Victoria's Livestock and Agistment Act on a reserve of $300,000 and is expected to be served by Zoustar at Widden Stud this spring.

Mills revealed that he only learned of Azkadellia's pending sale less than 24 hours before the auction and arranged with an undisclosed client to bid for the mare.

"Obviously, as part of the legal process of offering her, it was advertised that she would be offered for sale," Mills said.

"I was lucky to be in a position to do my due diligence quickly."

The Melbourne-based agent made his successful bid by phone.

Azkadellia had her last race in July 2016 when second in the G1 Tattersalls Tiara at Eagle Farm.

Azkadellia won three of her 17 starts along with five placings and $1,358,785 in prize-money including the G1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes in 2016.

She was subsequently disqualified from seven races in Victoria but she is still listed as a G1 winner and four times G1-placed on pedigree pages.

In 2017, Maher was suspended for six months after a stewards investigation found that convicted Australian conman Peter Foster was the concealed owner of Azkadellia.

Three other former Maher-trained horses also banned from racing were also sold at the Echuca sale for between $1200 and $2100.

Maher's former racing manager Ben Connolly was registered as the false owner of the three horses and was handed a two-year disqualification for his role in the subterfuge.

HIs disqualification expires on December 31.
