Arrowfield Stud's three-time champion sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) strengthened his hand in terms of juvenile power when his daughter Letzbeglam (2 f ex Miss Charming by Forestry) landed the Mt Duneed Estate Maiden 2YO Plate (1100m) at Werribee on Tuesday.

Snitzel has now moved one ahead of closest rival I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) with seven juvenile winners for the season, while he is also leading the standings by prize-money earnings, largely due to the exploits of Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL, 1200m) winner Away Game.

Having her first career outing, the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained two-year-old filly lead from pillar to post, eventually beating American Saint (Americain) by a cosy two lengths, while pre-race favourite Melisende (Hinchinbrook), who is a half-sister to Group 3 winner I Am Immortal (I Am Invincible), finished another two and a quarter lengths away in third.

Purchased by Cambridge Stud for $280,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Vinery Stud draft, Letzbeglam is out of the winning Forestry (Storm Cat) mare Miss Charming, who was purchased by Julian Blaxland's Blue Sky Bloodstock for US$140,000 at the Keeneland November Breeding Sale in 2014 in foal to Eskendereya (Giant's Causeway).

The filly is a sister to Listed-placed Snazz 'n' Charm and six-time winner Belle Danseuse (Eskendereya).

Miss Charming is herself out of Grade 3 winner Charm A Gendarme (Batonnier), making her a sister to Grade 3 winner Forest Grove and a half-sister to dual Grade 1 scorer Tout Charmant (Slewvescent), who in turn produced Grade 2 scorer Dancing House (Tapit) and Listed winner Too Charming (Bernardini).

Charm A Gendarme is also the grandam of Grade 2 winner New And Improved (Cairo Prince) and Grade 3-placed All Star Bub (Midshipman).

Snitzel's seven individual juvenile winners this season include two individual stakes winners; Away Game and Inglis Nursery (RL, 1000m) winner Wild Ruler and the septet have earned $1,823,640 in prize-money.

Sntizel's aggregate at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale was $13,120,000 for 42 sold, while he finished with an average of $312,381 and he has two lots catalogued during Book 1 at New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka 2020 sale, which gets underway on 26 January in Auckland.
