The Tokyo Daishoten is a Grade 1 race run under Set Weight conditions for three year olds and above at Oi Racecourse conducted by the Local Governments or NAR.

The Tokyo Daishoten is run over 2000m on dirt. It was first run in 1955. It was initially run as the Aki-no-Kura.

It is the only international race in Japan that it not run by the JRA.

Since 2011, the race been given international Grade 1 status.

The Tokyo Daishoten was worth JPY170,000,000 in 2023.

Oi racecourse is a right handed course with the start at the top of the home straight.

Because of its timing, surface and distance, it offers a chance for any Japanese horses to show they could be worthy of running in the Dubai World Cup.

Those to win it on multiple occasions include Adjudi Mitsuo, Smart Falcon, Hokko Tarumae, Ushba Tesoro and Omega Perfume (now with a famous four-peat).

Yutaka Take has won the race five times.

Notable recent winners of the Tokyo Daishoten include Ushba Tesoro (2022/2023), Omega Perfume (2018/2019/2020/2021), Hokko Tarumae (2013/2014), Smart Falcon (2010/2011), Kane Hekili (2008), Vermillion (2007), Adjudi Mitsuo (2004/2005) and Gold Allure (2002).
