Henny Fusaichi To Make It Back To Back

3 minute read

A strong performance to break his maiden status last start sees the Greg Bennett trained Henry Fusaichi well placed to make it back to back wins at Tamworth this afternoon.

While he obviously has to take a step up in grade for today's affair his performance when saluting at Muswellbrook last start has him rated the highest galloper in the field.

Running to a near career peak figure of 75, the three-year-old son of Henny Hughes proved successful in living up to his strong performance at Scone three back when finishing third behind the Darley trained Tableaux.

That performance has him rated five pounds clear of his nearest rival and given that galloper Detori has drawn the car park, Henny Fusaichi would only have to repeat his last start effort to be right in the finish.

Stepping out for just his fifth career start he has continued to show good improvement with each start this time in and appears set to relish the step up to the mile.

Drawn well expect Greg Ryan to boot up and take a sit just off the speed with the Grant Allard trained Raise The Ante and the Leon Davies trained A Long Way expected to take up the running.

Currently riding at a strike rate of 27% for the Bennett stable this season, Greg Ryan appears well in line to keep that winning trend continuing this afternoon.

The lightly raced Raise The Ante has returned in good order this time in and appears the main danger in the race as the step up to the mile appears ideal for the son of High Rolling.

Having only missed the money once in his five career starts he is expected to be right around the mark from the favourable draw.

The Leon Davies trained A Long Way has been racing in good form of late and comes into this off the back of a solid performance when finishing second at Gunnedah last start.

While he has only saluted the judge on one prior occasion from 16 career starts he is rarely very far away and will prove the one they all have to catch.

Despite drawing horribly the Darren Smith trained Dettori and the John White trained Mr Lightning appear the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
