Bronx Tale Hard To Beat At Geelong

3 minute read

Bronx Tale looks very close to a win and will be hard to beat when stepping out at Geelong today.

The Brideoake & Feek-trained runner who is lining up in the GRC Function & Event Centre Maiden (2200m), has placed in her last four outings and was not far away when runner up at Mornington last start.

Bronx Tale has had the one start over the trip, finishing runner up on that occasion and her last start effort rates very well here on weight adjusted Timeform ratings.

Taking on a small field today with Andrew Mallyon in the saddle, the four-year-old mare is likely to not be far away in the run and can certainly get the job done today.

The training partnership of David Brideoake and David Feek trained at an impressive 22% last season and Bronx Tale could provide the first winner of this season.

Black Rushin’ who has also been racing consistently well looks the main danger having finished runner up at this C/D in his last three outings.

Still a maiden after 12 career starts but has not been far away from breaking through and certainly gets his chance today in a small field.

Jamie Mott, who goes back on board will not have the five-year-old gelding very far away from barrier 3 and expect him to be in the finish along with Bronx Tale.

Prince Of Oz also rates a mention and looks to be the best of the rest.

Finished fourth in the same race as Black Rushin’ last start but was 2L away from him on that occasion and weights remain the same.

Certainly not the roughest but has a bit to find to be getting past the top two chances in the race.

Hard to get excited about much else lining up in this. Columbian Spirit has shown glimpses of some okay form when third at this C/D three back but was well beaten here last start behind the likes of Black Rushin’ and even Prince Of Oz.

Nothing else inspires much confidence based on recent form.
