Super Power To Go Back To Back

3 minute read

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Super Power couldn’t have been more impressive in breaking his maiden status last start and appears well placed to go back-to-back this evening.

Due to contest the third event at Kranji, the son of Power lines up off a short freshen up (51 days) and appears well placed in the 1400m event.

Only lightly raced Super Power finished third on debut before a fair effort when finishing sixth in the Group 3 Juvenile Championship [1400m].

Sent for a break, the Ricardo Le Grange-trained runner returned in emphatic fashion following two trial wins and stamped himself as certainly one to follow going forward.

Leading all the way for a dominant win over Zulu Warrior and Crown Gift, Super Power returned a Timeform figure of 83p, which indicates he is certainly a horse on the rise with plenty of ability.

Post-race Le Grange indicated Super Power will be aimed at the 3YO Challenge which kicks off with the Group 3 Singapore Three-year-old sprint (1200m) on March 30 – another push for the galloper.

While likely to improve with racing, he rates highly on his last start win and his sole trial in the lead up was solid.

Barend Vorster sticks aboard and is expected to press forward from the favourable draw.

Super Power clearly relished the strong tempo last start and expect Vorster to adopt similar tactics.

If let roll out in front, he should prove very hard to run down.

The Lee Freedman trained Marvel Hero displayed good ability in his maiden preparation and remains a big watch fresh.

Another lightly raced galloper, Marvel Hero has also trialled well in the lead up and although drawn out, he is expected to make his presence felt.

The Stephen Burridge trained Dalgety remains under strong notice in his Singapore debut.

Formerly based in Australia under the care of David Brideoake, Dalgety placed in two of his four starts and is certainly more than capable.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he certainly gets his chance and with three trials under his belt he should be fairly forward.

From the middle draw he can position up just off the speed and shapes as one of the leading contenders.

Of the rest the Cliff Brown trained Gold City appears the next in line, as while failing to fire last start, he has to be kept safe with Michael Rodd aboard.

At his best he is more than up to this and cannot be taken lightly.

Good luck and happy punting.
