Jupiter Gold Big Chance To Claim Raffles Cup Bounty

3 minute read

A very competitive field of runners line up in the Group 1 Raffles Cup (1600m) at Kranji on Sunday.

Jupiter Gold brings some terrific recent form with him, winning his last two and three of his last four, placing on the other occasion.

The talented five-year-old gelding got the better of Elite Invincible in the Group 1 Singapore Derby (1800m) two starts back before a freshen up, and was able to return a 1200m winner in a Kranji Stakes A last start.

Jupiter Gold is certainly a very versatile runner with wins from 1000m-1800m and his last start effort over 1200m should have him in terrific shape for this race today.

Has not drawn the best in barrier 13 and will need some luck from the draw but if he can find some cover around midfield he will be getting to the line very well late.

Debt Collector looks ready to fire second up after resuming with a good run for second in the Group 3 Jumbo Jet Trophy (1400m) behind Preditor last start with Circuit Land and Clarton Super running third and fourth respectively.

The Cliff Brown-trained runner has trialled twice since that run, running third in his most recent over 1000m behind Countofmontecristo and should relish getting out to the mile now second up.

Ran well for third over this C/D last campaign in the Group 1 Kranji Mile behind Infantry and comes into the race as one of the most consistent and highly rated horses in Singapore.

He is another that has drawn a wide barrier with Michael Rodd on board but as usual will find himself well back in the field closer to last.

Expect he will get enough speed up in front and if within striking distance on the turn he will be right there at the finish.

As mentioned previously Circuit Land also comes out of the Jumbo Jet Trophy first up when third and expect he will need to improve on that effort to be winning today.

Has trialled twice since that effort for two fourth placings and he did manage to land the Group 2 Chairman’s Trophy over this C/D when second up last campaign.

Lee Freedman will have him ready to fire today you would expect with Hugh Bowman making the trip from Australia to ride him.

Elite Invincible put two wins together earlier in the preparation and has not been far away in two runs since.

Has finished second and fourth behind Jupiter Gold his last two outings so you would expect he needs to improve but is a very talented horse on his day and should give a big sight.

On best form Noah From Goa gives a big sight but its hard to know where he is at, at the moment. Did get the win last start and could run better than everyone is expecting him to.

Good luck!
