Lim's Cruiser Set For Hong Kong Via Kranji

3 minute read

Two-time Group 1 winning sprinter Lim's Cruiser is set to make a winning return, when due to contest the sixth event at Kranji this evening.

Unseen since his triumph in the Group 1 Lion City Cup [1200m], the son of Casino Prince has been ticking along nicely with three trials in the lead up.

A winner of seven of his 17 starts since sold/transferred to Singapore, Lim's Cruiser has placed on a further six occasions and has been a model of consistency for trainer Stephen Gray.

The pronounced best sprinter in Singapore, Gray plans to head to Hong Kong following this evening's event with the Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Sprint (1200m) on December 9 the target.

Given that is the case, Lim's Cruiser is expected to be a touch more forward than in previous preparations.

Allowed to build at each trial back this time in, his latest was very good when made to find the line under Glen Boss.

Although only a small field, Lim's Cruiser ran sharp time (1:00.00) and appears in great order for his return.

Last preparation we saw him only have the two trials prior to his first up run, another pointer which suggests he will be ready to rock 'n' roll.

Under the conditions of the race, Lim's Cruiser is forced to give away 4.5kg to the race fit Zac Kasa, hence Gray has elected to engage apprentice Ismadi Amirul.

Currently lying third in the Apprentice Jockey Premiership, Amirul is riding in good form and deserves his chance at this level.

His 2kg claim helps swing the race in Lim's Cruiser's favour and from the inside draw he shouldn't be far away.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, Lim's Cruiser sits clear on best form and should prove very hard to hold out.

The Cliff Brown trained Zac Kasa has the weights in his favour and looms as the main danger, following a solid run of form.

Stepped up to 1400m last start, Zac Kasa stuck on well despite no match for his stablemate Mister Yeoh.

The drop back in trip should aid his chances and Michael Rodd appears a key booking (placed 5/5).

Expected to press forward from the wide draw, he should be in this for a long way.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Aramco is in career best form and has to be respected from the favourable draw.

A handy winner of the Group 3 Garden City Trophy [1200m] last start, Aramco only looks to have to hold his form to be right in the finish again.

Of the rest the Alvin Tan trained Special King appears the next in line.

A model of consistency, he certainly gets his chance down in the weights and has to be kept safe despite the wide draw.

Good luck and happy punting.
