Mo Almighty Set For Winning Return

3 minute read

Talented three-year-old Mo Almighty appears well placed to make a winning return, when due to contest the third race at Singapore this evening.

Group 3 placed at his last outing, Mo Almighty returns from a 100 day break and creates plenty of interest for the Cliff Brown stable.

Only lightly raced, Mo Almighty has only missed the money once in his career and boasts a close second placing behind Bold Thruster at his last start.

No question the latter is one of the more promising sprinters in Singapore and expect that form to stand right up.

Given the sole trial in the lead up, jockey Michael Rodd barely breathed on the son of Uncle Mo, coasting to the line to finish sixth.

They didn't run any flash time, however he carried 70kg and did enough to suggest he is ready to rock 'n' roll first up.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear on his last start effort and is open to further improvement this time in.

Drawn a touch awkwardly, but trust in Rodd to weave some magic – he is striking at 20% when combined with the Brown stable (167 rides).

Impressive debut winner Winning Hobby looks well above average and he has to be respected down in the weights.

Ridden by Azhar Ismail, Winning Hobby enjoyed a lovely run in transit on debut, settled one out, one back.

Relishing the solid tempo, Winning Hobby tracked into the race strongly and peeled four-wide into the straight.

Displaying a good turn of foot, Winning Hobby ambled up to the lead, asserting his dominance passing the 200m, drawing clear to score by 2.3L.

In a race which appeared fairly strong on-paper, Winning Hobby gave them a galloping lesson and the clock backed up the strength of his performance.

He ran ~5.5L faster than the other maiden event on the night (race 4) and ran marginally faster than Class 3 winner What's New.

The margin spread is also a strong indicator that he is an above average maiden winner, with over 5L separating the first five across the line.

The wide draw isn't ideal, however if able to slot in, he looms as a major threat.

The Michael Clements trained Siam Mp won well on debut and has to be kept safe with Boss sticking aboard.

Well supported to start the $3.10 favourite, Siam Mp did right by punters when she kicked back strongly to score easily in the end.

Under siege when clearly headed inside the 300m, Siam Mp really impressed when knuckling down under Boss.

She ran decent figures and appears capable of taking that next step.

Of the rest the John O'Hara trained Fame Star appears the next in line.

A model of consistency, he has been rock solid in both starts to begin this preparation and should be right at his peak racing third up.

Duric is obviously a key booking and he has to be respected from the gun draw.

Good luck and happy punting.
