Sacred Rebel To Go Back To Back

3 minute read

Impressive last start winner Sacred Rebel appears well placed to go back to back, when due to contest the eighth event this evening.

Only a recent addition the Mark Walker stable, Sacred Rebel clearly appreciated getting back onto the polytrack last start, when spacing them over 1100m.

Ridden by Benny Woodworth, Sacred Rebel eased back from the wide draw, before launching down the centre of the track.

Although taking a while to wind up, he really asserted his authority late and while rising 3.5kg at the weights, he still appears well placed.

Formerly trained by Chris Waller, Sacred Rebel actually began his career in New Zealand and had won two of his 10 starts before making his way to Singapore.

Only lightly raced, he is trending the right way and still has a bit of improvement to come on his best form.

The wide draw is some concern as he is likely to get a long way back, however the tempo of the 1200m event should allow him to blend into it.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he sits clear on his last start effort and if able to improve further, he should prove very hard to beat.

The Lee Freedman trained Jomo was no match for Siam Vipasiri last start, but his performance still held merit and like the fact he comes here on the fresh side (42 days).

Given a nice soft trial in the lead up, he looks to lead for Michael Rodd and at the weights he gets his chance to return to the winner's stall.

Unbeaten at his first three starts, he has since performed well at his next three and no reason to be jumping off.

The Alvin Tan trained Revolution simply got too far back last start behind Bold Thruster, but is sure to appreciate the drop back in grade.

A noted flier on the polytrack and he has placed in six of nine attempts over this trip.

The wide draw is a negative, but much like Sacred Rebel, he is likely to be saved up for one last crack at them.

Of the rest the Mark Walker trained Time Lord appears the best of the rest.

Good luck and happy punting.
