Following the easing of COVID restrictions across New South Wales, Club Menangle is pleased to provide an update on the Country Series and Slingsby Holdings Carousel.

Country Series

Club Menangle will recommence the Country Series Finals from January 1 2022, when all travel restrictions are expected to ease in Regional NSW.

In the meantime, Club Menangle will continue to support Country Clubs financially with prize money additions to races originally programmed as heats of the Country Series from October to December.

In 2022, a Country Series will be hosted each month by Club Menangle.

The February Country Series Final will be run on the same race meeting as one of our premier events, the Miracle Mile, Saturday, March 5 2022.

Slingsby Holdings Carousel

Initially set down for early September, Club Menangle was forced to postpone the time-honoured event due to COVID travel restrictions. This was to ensure that all NSW trainers and owners were offered the opportunity to compete in the series.

The Slingsby Holdings Carousel series will now become part of the Inter Dominion Carnival, with an added bonus of extra prize money offered for all heats.

Heats were originally programmed with stakes of $14,000 but will now be programmed for $20,000 with the final set at $50,000.

General Manager of Racing David Wonson said, "record prize money will now be offered for the Slingsby Holdings Carousel series."

"Heats will be conducted on Saturday, November 27 and Saturday, December 4. The final is set down for Inter Dominion Final night on Saturday, December 11."

"This group two event will only enhance what promises to be an unforgettable night of championship racing."

Series conditions have changed slightly. Horses with an NR up to 80 will now be eligible.
