Mathias Solier
Former jockey Mathias Solier saddled his first winner Sunday at Niort. This was thanks to the daughter of Feel Like Dancing, Wells Anjou, scoring under jockey Bertrand Bourez on debut. Mathias Solier trains six horses on behalf of Mustang Sarl.
Search for a Song
2019 and 2020 winner of the G1 Irish St Leger (2800m), Search for a Song, will travel to France for the first time when tackling the G1 Prix Royal-Oak (3100m) this weekend. Trainer Dermot Weld has already had success in the race with Vinnie Roe in 2001.
Frédéric Rossi
The Marseille-based trainer Frédéric Rossi passed the 1000th winner mark when Takamaka won the Prix Fyrial Pursuit (Handicap) (2000m) at Marseille-Borely. Frédéric Rossi sent thanks out to his team who have worked tirelessly throughout the years.
Garachico
The Carlos Laffon-Parias-trained son of Ribchester, Garachico, will line up in this weekend's G1 Critérium de Saint-Cloud (2000m). Fourth in the G3 Prix de Condé (1800m) at Chantilly when last seen the trainer is expecting the step up in trip to suit.
Ricla
Ricla will take her place in the G3 Prix de Flore (2100m) at Saint-Cloud on Saturday. The previously progressive daughter of Adlerflug arrives following a below par eighth in the G3 Prix Minerve (2500m) though had finished a good third in the G2 Prix de Malleret (2400m) at Longchamp in July. Trainer Carlos Laffon-Parias will hope she can bounce back with a good effort.
Grand Glory
Gianluca Bietolini's star mare Grand Glory will look to take her place in the G1 Japan Cup (2400m) at Tokyo racecourse on November 28th. There are complications regarding travel meaning Grand Glory will depart on November 6th and arrive on November 7th ahead of her challenge. The trainer remains hopeful regular rider Cristian Demuro will be in the saddle and suggested this is likely to be the last run of her career.
Speak of the Devil
Speak of the Devil looks set to contest the G1 Breeders Cup Mile (1600m) following his recent sixth in the G1 Prix de la Forêt (1400m) at Longchamp.
The Bahrain International Trophy
There have been seventy-eight entries for the G1 Bahrain International Trophy (2000m) including ten trained in France. They include Algiers, Caprice des Gods, Dawn Intello, Eudaimonia, Galova, Kenway, Magny Cours, Monty, Mr de Pourceaugnac, and Tokyo Gold.
Tim Donworth
The young Irish born trainer Tim Donworth saddled his first winner since arriving in France at the third time of asking when Cotai Hero won the claiming Prix de Mulsanne (1400m) at Le Mans. He currently trains eight horses in Chantilly on behalf of James Finch.
Doctor Dino
Haras du Mesnil stallion, Doctor Dino, will be offered for €18,000 in 2022. Doctor Dino has covered an average of 147 mares per year. The son of Muhtathir will have the number of mares covered reduced to 125 in 2022.
Said Jeddari
Trainer Said Jeddari saddled his first Parisian victory when Assad Lawal won the Prix Miss Hungerford (3900m) handicap hurdle at Auteuil last Saturday.
Gran Premio Delle Nazioni
The draw for the G1 Gran Premio Delle Nazioni (2250m) at Milan was made on Friday. The principal contenders Vivid Wise As and Matthieu Abrivard will line up from lane 1, Vitruvio in 2 and Alrajah One in 3.
Zacon Gio
The Italian-trained Zacon Gio has joined top French trainer Jean-Michel Bazire after leaving Holger Ehlert. Twice the conqueror of leading trotter Face Time Bourbon, Zacon Gio arrives with impressive total earnings of €1.33 million.
