Of all the eye-catching performances from last week, Saiydabad's fourth in the G1 Prix du Jockey Club (2100m) is the stand-out. Settled at the back by Jean-Bernard Eyquem, the Aga Khan colt was put under pressure to progress in the final 400m and stayed on past weakening rivals. The run indicated that Saiydabad would appreciate a longer distance as the season progresses and connections have suggested the G1 Grand Prix du Paris (2400m) would be his next target.

By Blame, winner of the G1 Breeders' Cup Classic, the colt is out of Group Three winning mare Sarkiyla (Oasis Dream), who was competitive over 1600m-2000m. Sarkiyla's half sister Sarvana produced Gold Trip, who finished fourth in the 2020 renewal of the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (2400m). Although stallion Blame stands at Clairborne Stud in Kentucky, the three-time Grade One victor has already produced a French Classic winner – Senga in the G1 Prix de Diane (2100m)Blame has achieved individual five Grade/Group One winners in his nine crops to date including G1 Arkansas Derby (1800m) victor Nadal.

From a dam family adept at producing middle-distance performers, Saiydabad looks to be a colt to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season.
