Malavath was off the mark at the third attempt with a facile success winning as she liked. Olivier Peslier always oozed confidence on the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained two-year-old filly, who sauntered to the lead at the 200m marker before stretching clear of her rivals under hands-and-heels riding.
She had already shown promise in her previous two outings, notably giving the well regarded, Godolphin-owned Rebel Path (Iffraaj), a scare at Deauville on her penultimate start with the pair pulling clear of a subsequent winner to give the form substance.
The daughter of Mehmas was a €140,000 Arqana Breeze Up purchase at Doncaster in May this year. A first foal out of a sister to US Grade Three winner Ceisteach (New Approach), Malavath looks an obvious candidarte to improve when stepping up in distance. There is an abundance of untapped potential and tackling a conditions race is likely to be well within her compass this season. She looks a pattern-race performer.
