Statistic Of The Week of French Racing News - 29th July 2021.
Next Tuesday sees the commencement of the Deauville carnival with the G1 Prix Rothschild (1600m) for fillies and mares aged three years or older being the feature event on the nine-race card.
The race has seen many high-class fillies and mares take centre stage over the recent years with the likes of: Divine Proportions, Goldikova, Elusive Kate, Qemah and Laurens all successful.
One trend stands out over the last six seasons with prior Group One winner's having an exceptional record in the contest. As the table shows below, five of the last six G1 Prix Rothschild (1600m) heroines have already scored at the highest level.
This bodes well for plenty of the UK and Irish entries but may leave the home contingent worried, with Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Coeursamba the only previous Group One winner amongst the field at this stage.
