Statistic Of The Week of French Racing News - 21st October 2021.
Analysing the breeding of previous French Classic winners provides a different approach to selecting juveniles to follow into their three-year-old campaign. We look at the sires of the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains and G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches - in the table below each winner has the sire listed and notes for the stallion – important victories, preferred distance and other relevant information.
There are two stand-out statistics to note. Out of the last ten renewals of both the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains and G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, fourteen of the winners were sired by horses who won in France including French Classic winners Shamardal and Le Havre (responsible for four).
