Plenty of high-class action at Auteuil this Saturday with key pointers towards the G1 Prix Cambacérès (3600m) (3yo) and the G1 Prix Renaud du Vivier (3900m) (4yo) on display.
G2 Prix Georges de Talhouët-Roy (3600m) (Hurdle)
This weekend sees an exciting renewal of the G2 Prix Georges de Talhouët-Roy (3600m) with plenty of top trainer's represented including David Cottin, Francois Nicolle, and Gabriel Leenders. All three of the mentioned stables saddle two contenders, making up most of this seven-runner field for three-year-olds only.
The David Cottin-trained Sans Bruit looks an especially exciting prospect having routed the re-opposing Ain't Got Wings by twelve lengths in the G3 Prix Robert Lejeune (3600m) over course and distance three weeks ago. This daughter of Triple Threat looks to have a huge future over hurdles and with her front-running style likely to suit this small field event, it would be no surprise were she to dominate from flag fall. It should be noted that trainer Arnaud Chaille-Chaille has won two of the last three renewals and he relies on the previously mentioned, Ain't Got Wings. Other notable contenders include the likes of Imprenable and You'Re The Boss. There was little to separate the pair when they finished first and second in the track and trip Listed Race Prix des Platanes (3600m) and both are open to considerable improvement.
G3 Prix Montgomery (4700m) (Steeplechase) (Handicap)
An interesting renewal of the G3 Prix Montgomery (4700m) steeplechase with a handful of contenders that look to have strong form claims.
Jockey Pierre Dubourg will be hoping that Drop Flight can follow up his ultra-impressive twenty length success in the Listed Prix Violon Ii (4400m) here three weeks ago. A 5kg rise in the weights puts him on a career high mark but he may take some stopping given his progressive profile. The re-opposing Doux Dingue looks an obvious contender on these revised terms whilst the Francois Nicolle-trained Glorice should strip fitter for his spin over hurdles recently.
G3 Prix Pierre de Lassus (3900m) (Hurdle)
A strong four-year-old hurdle that sees plenty of high-class contenders' line up, the majority of which contested the G3 Prix de Maisons-Laffitte (3600m) here three weeks ago.
The top-class four-year-old Hermès Baie extended his winning run to four when making a successful two and a half-length reappearance in the G3 Prix de Maisons-Laffitte (3600m) at this venue. Francois Nicolle looks to hold a strong hand in this contest and the son of Crillon remains one of the most exciting prospects in French jumps racing, having created a powerful impression when blitzing his rivals in the G1 Prix Alain du Breil (3900m) in June.
The main dangers may well be provided by those who filled the placings in the G3 Prix de Maisons-Laffitte (3600m). It could be a big day for trainer Arnaud Chaille-Chaille, and his G1 Prix Cambaceres (3600m) winner Theleme should strip fitter for finishing second behind Hermès Baie, whilst similar comments could apply to Raffles Face. Marcel Rolland looks to have a smart horse on his hands, and it will be interesting to see how the Simon Munir and Isaac Souede-owned Colbert du Berlais gets on following a success in the Listed Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal (3600m) here.
