Originally established in 1892, the G3 Prix du Président de la République (4700m) is a valuable prize at Auteuil for staying chasers. We analyse the chance of each runner...

Amour du Mathan

Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé's six-year-old mare was last seen finishing a ten-length fourth in the G3 Prix Journaliste (4100m) at Compiegne. That was a good effort, and she holds each-way claims with this step up in trip potentially leading to further progression.

Doctor Kaleo

The unexposed six-year-old ran a brilliant race to finish runner-up in the Listed Prix Lutteur iii (4400m) at this venue four weeks ago. Respected with plenty more to offer over fences this season.

Enfant Roi

Sophie Leech's lightly raced seven-year-old won by nine-lengths in a competitive handicap over 4400m at this track last month. Now holds a chasing record to five victories from eight starts, and it would be foolish to dismiss him with the prospect of further progress likely over this stiffer stamina test.

Echiquier

Produced his second victory over fences when running out a 4L winner of a 4400m steeplechase at this course 43-days ago. Simon Munir's and Isaac Souede's seven-year-old has plenty of solid form in the UK and rates an each-way player in this event.

Gamin d'Oudairies

Delivered a fair nine-length fourth in the Listed Prix Air Landais (4400m) at this track three weeks ago. Made-all for a one-and-a-quarter length success in the Listed Prix Sth Hipavia (3900m) at Pau early last year and cannot be ruled out with more to come for a top yard.

D'Jango

The Patrice Quinton-trained eight-year-old ran out a three-length winner in this race last year. Arrives with lesser form this time around however is down 2kg on his last steeplechase start and is one of a few proven over this unique course and distance and the prospect of a strongly run race is sure to suit. Warrants respect.

Irja Has

The Marcel Rolland-trained mare has failed to shine producing back-to-back held eighths in Listed races this campaign including most recently when beaten twenty-lengths attempting the Prix Lutteur iii (4400m) at this course. Others preferred in this competitive handicap.

Darling des Bordes

The Lageneste & Macaire-trained lightly raced eight-year-old finished behind two re-opposing rivals when third in the Listed Prix Lutteur iii (4400m). Improvement required to reverse the form with some of these but holds each-way claims over this new distance.

Gaboriot

Managed a good reappearance run when a nine-length runner-up in a handicap over 4400m at this venue last month. Progress needed on the overall balance of his form, though does remain unexposed and may strip fitter now.

Follow Me Soldier

The son of Soldier Of Fortune scored by half-a-length in a handicap chase over 3800m at Compiegne just under two weeks ago. A step back up to this journey could prove no issue though likely more is needed at this level.

Fou Delice

Sported cheekpieces for the first time finishing a held sixth in the G3 Prix Journaliste (4100m) at Compiegne eighteen days ago. Ran third when sent off favourite for this race last year and it would be dangerous to dismiss him with that race experience a positive.

Fanfaron Special

Showed improved form when running out a two-and-a-half length winner of the Listed Prix Lutteur iii (4400m) here four weeks ago. Proved he stayed the trip when fourth in this event last year and a bold bid can be expected from a career high mark, if replicating the form of that latest success.

Hodois Has

Was held when fifth over hurdles at this venue on his return from a break three weeks ago. Highly tried in group company during the winter months and although he finished third in the Listed Prix Triquerville (4400m) last October, it is likely more will be needed tackling this stiffer stamina test.

Royalclety

Competes as an unexposed seven-year-old with just the four starts over fences so far. Delivered a good one-and-a-quarter length second in the Listed Prix Air Landais (4400m) at this track three weeks ago and makes the shortlist despite this step up in journey being an unknown.

Sternkranz

Yet to score over fences in ten attempts. Finished a well-beaten seventh in the Listed Prix Lutteur iii (4400m) at this track twenty-eight days ago. Did produce a close third in the G3 Grand Prix de La Ville de Nice (4600m) at Cagnes-sur-Mer in January and drops 0.5kg. Might be worthy of each-way consideration if replicating that effort.

Fret d'Estruval

Provided good form at a lower level prior to struggling when upped in grade on his last two starts, including when well-beaten in a 4400m handicap chase at this venue last month. Down 0.5kg Unlikely to trouble the principles.

Gentilhomme

Lightly raced five-year-old who arrives here following a fair fifth in the Listed Prix Lutteur iii (4400m) at this course four weeks back. That was his stiffest task to date, and could be worth including in the multiples with further progress plausible at this journey.

Diffly River Ann

Diffly River Ann won his penultimate start in Listed company by landing the Prix President Michel Bodiguel Grand Steeplechase de Loire Atlantic at Nantes (4300m). He finished a staying-on fourth behind Fanfaron Special at this venue in the Listed Prix Lutteur III (4400m) last time.

No Risk For You

The Mickael Seror-trained No Risk For You has been mixing hurdle and chase starts in handicap company this campaign. She improved her good record at Auteuil with victory in a chase over 4400m two starts ago, winning with something in hand. Looks capable of enjoying this extra distance upped in class, descending from a sire (No Risk At All) who has instilled plenty of stamina in his progeny.

Golden Park

Golden Park is a five-year-old mare by notable sire Walk in the Park. Given a couple of hurdle starts in preparation for this test, winning at Nancy over 3800m on her penultimate outing. A previous winner in this grade, she could not get near the imperious Le Berry when finishing fifth in the G3 Prix The Fellow Marquise de Moratalla (4400m) last September but is not a forlorn hope with plenty of experience at this track and drops 2kg.

Every Bere

Enters this race with a win next to his name scoring in a handicap chase at Compiegne over 3800m on heavy ground. The further he went the better he looked that day, suggesting there is more to come over this increased journey. Has something to find with No Risk For You on their Auteuil meeting on penultimate start.

Gudari

The six-year-old grey gelding is another handicapper stepping up in grade following a chase sixth at Compiegne on heavy ground over 3800m earlier this month. Despite a drop of 1kg, this looks a tough ask as an inexperienced chaser at this stage of his career.

Filovent

Comes into this contest after a pulled up-effort at Strasbourg over 4000m last month. Previously, the six-year-old had finished a good fifth in a 4400m handicap chase at this venue, in front of four reopposing rivals here. May bounce back to form.

Bandero

The son of Balko is experienced over fences. Delivered consistent form this campaign including a sixth in his most recent start, the Listed Prix Lutteur III at Auteuil over 4400m. He was behind a few of these in that contest, does receive a weight drop of 1kg and it would be no surprise if he ran well.

Dakar

The Françoise-Marie Cottin-trained Dakar is a respected runner over this stamina-laden distance. This son of Ballingarry looks one who could be on the improve following an eyecatching fifth in a handicap chase at Auteuil over 4400m earlier this month. He made up a huge amount of ground in the straight on that occasion and is one who might be able to thrive upped in journey, receiving plenty of weight from his rivals.
