The G1 Prix du Président de la République (2850m) was created in 1897 and is the mounted championship for four-year-olds. In recent years, it has been won by top-class performers such as Bilibili and Gladys des Plaines. We look at the runners for this year's renewal...

Herbue des Valois

Herbue des Valois has been struggling with disqualifications and is stepping up considerably in grade for the first time. Her last completion was a second in a Class D contest at Vincennes in May.

Henzo Crown

Henzo Crown has been predominantly raced in driven events and is yet to win a mounted race. His best result among mounted company is a second in a Class D at Vincennes in January.

Halowie Renardier

Halowie Renardier has been struggling to find best form in driven events and reverts to mounted company for the first time since February 2020. Her two attempts in mounted races were at Group level and she was disqualified on both occasions.

Hirondelle du Rib

Hirondelle du Rib has been taking advantage of other rivals andthier absence and has placed in the G2 Prix Henri Balliere (2450m) and G2 Prix Lavatar (2700m) in late May and June. She is capable of finishing in the frame.

Hector des Champs

Hector des Champs has been struggling with disqualifications but is capable on his best day. He bounced back after two non-completions to finish second in the Class B Prix de Ploermel (2850m) and could play a role if maintaining stride.

Hora Bot Eur Moël

Hora Bot Eur Moël has only managed one victory from twenty-four career starts however holds some fair form in behind. She was a useful fourth in the G2 Prix Louis le Bourg (2850m) but this is a tougher ask.

Hermès d'Ecotay

Hermès d'Ecotay is yet to deliver at the top level. He was a good second in the Class A Prix de la Porte de la Plaine (2875m) at Laval in mid-June and his peak kilometre rating at Vincennes (1'11'7) would give him a place chance.

Hegate Love

Hegate Love has some of the strongest form in the field on paper, having won the G2 Prix Rene Palyart (2175m) at Vincennes in early May. However, her peak kilometre rating of the field (1'12'5) falls short of some of her rivals and she rates as a place chance after two below-par efforts since the Prix Rene Palyart.

Hispanien

Hispanien was a winner of the G3 Prix de Dozule (2700m) at Vincennes in February but has struggled to make his presence felt since. He would need to revert to best if featuring.

Héra Landia

Héra Landia has been finishing midfield in Group races over the last couple of months, including a fifth in the G2 Prix Rene Palyart (2175m) at Vincennes in early May. She was second in the G1 Prix d'Essai (2175m) on this day last year but is yet to show the same level of form in 2021.

Hope On Victory

Hope On Victory has been quietly campaigned since her success in the G2 Prix Raoul Balliere (2175m) at Vincennes in December with only four starts. She was disqualified last time, but her best form would put her in the mix.

Heart of Gold

Heart of Gold maintains a good record in mounted company, having won and placed on his sole two starts. His success came in the G2 Prix Felicien Gauvreu (2700m) in February 2020, and is an interesting contender on return to mounted company after struggling in driven events.

Helitlopet

Helitlopet has been disqualified on his last four outings and will be looking for a completion. His form prior was excellent, picking up four straight wins between December and January including the G1 Prix de Vincennes (2700m) on 27 December. He has to be a leading chance if finding the finish.

Hatchet Man

Hatchet Man returns to mounted company for the first time since October 2020. He has been racing well in driven events including a success in the G2 Prix Gaston Brunet (2875m) at Enghien on 24 April. His two attempts in mounted events have ended in disqualification but he is very capable.

Hudson Védaquais

Hudson Védaquais struggled to find his best form in recent outings although a third in the G2 Prix Louis le Bourg (2850m) reads well in the context of this race.

Hallix

Hallix returns to the track following an injury possibly sustained in the G2 Prix Gaston de Wazieres (2875m) when seventh. She had recorded six consecutive wins prior to that run, including a win in the G2 Prix Louis le Bourg (2850m) and sets the standard if returning in the same order.

Hopla des Louanges

Hopla des Louanges is chasing a double after a win in the G2 Prix Lavatar (2700m) and has the advantage of race-fitness over some main market rivals, such as Hallix. She is in good order and is likely to produce a strong performance.

Hytte du Terroir

Hytte du Terroir has some good placed form at Group level including a second in the G2 Prix Rene Palyart (2175m) and holds each way claims again.

Héros de Fleur

Héros de Fleur was a winner of the G2 Prix Henri Balliere (2450m) at Caen in mid-May and has some strong form at this level. He is likely to feature in the finish.

WIN – Hopla des Louanges

DARK HORSE – Heart of Gold
